This reel has a full metal body and side plates to provide a reel with maximum durability and reliability. The stainless steel main and pinion gears along with the 5 shielded stainless steel ball bearings are all corrosion resistant for an increased lifespan.
The gears are machined and then drilled to give the reel exceptional strength but also help reduce the weight of the reel. For a smooth and powerful drag the Dura Drag system creates an adjustable lever drag that will allow you to go from completely free spooling to 13lb at strike 16lb at full and then 20lb of drag when the sunset setting is activated using a push in button to swipe the drag lever past.
What is the “Sunset Setting”?
\"Sunset\" just means the maximum drag setting i.e. the lever at Sunset point shows maximum drag has been reached when set for pull pressure preference by the angler. As an example you could set Sunset at 70% of the breaking strain and Strike drag at no more than 40% of the line breaking strain. Sunset setting is for fighting big fish with the maximum sensible line pressure.
As an extra feature this reel also lets you know how much line remains on your spool during your fishing as this braid-ready spool features handy line capacity rings.
