45AN89 R & D Marine Damper Drive Plate.
Fitted between the engine and the gearbox input shaft, a damper drive plate is designed to transmit the engine power to the gearbox, whilst reducing transmitted gear noise and providing a cushioned drive when selecting gear. All R and D Damper Drive plates include a 'failsafe' design.
Also called the Driven Plate, Damper Plate or Clutch Plate, the 45AN89 Damper Drive Plate is from the R and D High Deflection element range. Common applications for the 45AN89 drive plate include Ford engines mated to gearbox models PRM100, PRM101, PRM140, PRM160 & PRM260, subject to flywheel dimensions.
The technical details:
- Spline: SAE 1" x 10 teeth (25.4mm diameter) for PRM100, 101, 140, 160 & 260 gearboxes
- Diameter of back plate which bolts to the engine flywheel: 362mm (14.25")
- Back plate fixing holes (multi-hole fixing type): 6 x 8.1 on 200mm pcd, 6 x 8.1mm on 210mm pcd, 6 x 8.1 on 263mm, 6 x 8.1 on 26.9mm pcd, 6 x 8.1 on 276.3mm pcd, 6 x 8.1mm on 289mm pcd, 6 x 8.1mm on 295.3mm pcd, 6 x 8.8mm on 304.8mm pcd, 6 x 8.1mm on 314.4mm pcd, 6 x 9.5 on 320.7mm pcd, 12 x 9.5mm on 343mm pcd.
- Maximum thickness of drive plate: 35mm (1.38")
Fitted with the softer type AN high deflection element for 270Nm 200 ft lb torque, providing a maximum deflection up to 30 degrees. This type of drive plate is especially suited to workboats with slow speed applications & pleasure boats. Note that this type of damper drive plate can only be fitted to rotate in the standard direction of rotation (anti-clockwise when looking at the flywheel) with the drive plate element facing the gearbox. These damper plates are also failsafe.
