Arctic Steel skin fitting and nut is a made of polished cast 2205 stainless steel and has a 2" BSP thread.
Premium stainless steel skin fitting and nut is suitable for use with Arctic Steel 2" BISO and SISO Strainers (WS-BISO-200-C-A, WS-BISO-200-S-A, WS-SISO-200-C-A and WS-SISO-200-S-A), as well as ISS Medium scoop strainers (part number: ISS315-160).
Stainless steel 2205 has many benefits over bronze, including:
- Lighter than bronze with excellent corrosion resistance; 2205 SS boasts the same life as bronze.
- Arctic Steel skin fittings are many times stronger (high tensile) than bronze.
- Reduced galvanic corrosion as today engine rooms are dominated by stainless steel and alloy.
