SSI Open Water Diver (Full Course) How do I become an Open Water Diver? The Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba diving certification which allows qualified divers to dive anywhere in the world to 18 metres. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course. To enroll in the Open Water Diver course you must be at least 10 years old and have adequate swimming skills. No prior experience with scuba diving is required. So how do you get started? There are 3 simple steps to success. Academic learning. You will also have some online theory to complete that is accessed through you SSI APP or the SSI Website. There are also classroom sessions to consolidate your on-line learning and a final exam. The first in-water training is known as Confined Water training, where you learn the basic skills of scuba diving at our partner leisure centre The Venue in Borehamwood, with one of our Instructors. Upon completion of the confined water training you move on to the second step, Open Water Completion. These are the qualifying dives completed at a local training training centre (Wraysbury) near Heathrow where you will repeat the skills mastered in the pool again under the guidance of our instructors. You will receive your SSI Open Water Diver certification upon completion of both Parts A & B and can begin your own underwater adventures around the world. It’s that easy! To book your SSI Open Water Diver training please contact the office on office@borehamwoodscuba.co.uk to book in your date.

PADI Advanced Open Water Discover new adventures The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed to enhance your diving skills in a number of specialty areas whilst gaining supervised experience. It consists of five open water dives in specialist diving areas including deep and navigation. Upon completion you will be qualified to dive to 30 meters in conditions similar to or better than those you were trained in. For the academic work we register you for the online Advanced eLearning. You will need to read and complete the sections relevant to the dives you are taking. Please make sure this is completed before your dives and you bring with you your e-record. The first day is spent at Wraysbury Dive Lake where you will complete three adventure dives, Search & Recovery, Navigation and Peak Performance Buoyancy, the second day is spent at Vobster Quay in Somerset, where will complete your last two dives Deep dive and Wreck Dive. If you have not dived within the past 12 months we will require you to complete a Scuba Review prior to the course, this can be added during your booking. Contact the office for more information and to make a booking, office@borehamwoodscuba.co.uk
PADI Dry Suit Diver Speciality Take your diving further The PADI Dry Suit Specialty is a great course as it allows you to dive in slightly colder waters found in the UK and several other places around the world. A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cold water. There is incredible diving in the world’s cooler regions and in some areas, conditions are even better in colder months. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often. In order to become a dry suit diver you must complete the the on-line learning and then complete two open water dives at Wraysbury Dive Centre. Contact the office for more information and to make a booking, office@borehamwoodscuba.co.uk
PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Speciality One of the biggest problems divers run into is that the wanted to stay underwater longer. The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course allows you to do just that! This is because Enriched Air, more commonly known as Nitrox, increases the amount of oxygen in the scuba cylinder, so you absorb less nitrogen, which in turn allows you to stay underwater for longer. Nitrox also makes you feel more energetic after a dive! To qualify as an Enriched Air Nitrox Diver you must be at least 12 years old and have your PADI Open Water Certification or equivalent. The theory is done online, and then you will simply meet up with us where we show you how to analyse your cylinder and log it, and if you have your own computer we can help show you how to set it to the O2 mix. Our Scuba Review course is designed to cover a majority of the skills you would have learnt on your initial open water course.
